Do we need to add a cushioning pad between the Crane Outrigger Pad and the outrigger

Whether a buffer pad is needed between the Crane Outrigger Pad and the outrigger depends on the actual working conditions. When there are uneven conditions such as protrusions or depressions on the bottom of the outrigger or the surface of the pad, it is recommended to add a buffer pad. It can fill the gaps, make the contact between the outrigger and the Crane Outrigger Pad tighter, avoid excessive local stress that may damage the pad or cause the outrigger to slip, and improve support stability.

If there is frequent vibration in the working environment, such as continuous shaking of construction machinery during construction, the buffer pad can absorb part of the vibration energy, reduce the impact of vibration on the outrigger and the Crane Outrigger Pad, extend the service life of both, and at the same time reduce the risk of support deviation caused by vibration.

However, if both the bottom of the outrigger and the surface of the Crane Outrigger Pad are flat, and there is no obvious vibration during operation, a buffer pad may not be needed. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the outrigger is completely attached to the Crane Outrigger Pad, so as to avoid affecting the support accuracy due to uneven thickness of the buffer pad. When selecting a buffer pad, attention should be paid to the load-bearing capacity of its material to ensure it matches the load requirements of the outrigger and the pad.
